• Patients are required to answer pre-screening questions when they are reminded of their appointment, then again before they enter the building. We have waived the 24 hour cancellation policy to ensure that patients are not penalized if they feel unwell.
• Therapists and administrative staff must also self-monitor and not come to the clinic if they are feeling ill
• Patients are asked to wait in their car if possible and not to arrive more than 5 minutes before their scheduled time.
• Patients must arrive unaccompanied
• Waiting area seating has at least 2 meters between chairs
• Arrows on the floor allow for a flow of patients and staff to minimize the possibility of incidental contact
• Lunch room seating has been removed and/or spaced out to discourage social interaction between therapists
• Reception area has been increased but limited to only the receptionist and one therapist at a time, keeping 2 metres apart at all times.
• Protective barriers have been constructed for payment areas and non-contact options are encouraged and available.
• New patients are asked to fill patient intake form and consent form, available on the website, and bring in to the clinic already filled out, to reduce non-essential time in the waiting area and use of pens
• A hand sanitizing station is placed at the entryway to the building with signage
• Patients are to sanitize/wash their hands before and after treatment
• Therapists must wash their hands regularly, before and after treatment as per the guidelines for RMT’s
• Hand-washing protocols have been posted by sinks
• Signage has been posted to discourage face touching
• Tissue is available in several places for patients and staff to address itches with pedal waste bins close by
• in treatment rooms, treatment tables are wiped down after each use as well as table, chair, doorknobs and oil bottle
• Additional time has been scheduled to allow for extra cleaning between patients
• High touch areas are disinfected regularly
• Waiting area chairs are wiped down after every use
• Washroom is wiped down several times a day.
• Patients are required to wear a mask while at the clinic
• Disposable masks are available for patients who don’t have their own
• Therapists are required to wear a mask while at the clinic
• Patient is made aware that though the clinic is making every possible effort to create a safe environment, there still remains a risk of contracting COVID-19 by having treatment and the patient gives written consent of their understanding of this risk.
